Hello, my name is Anke Staphorst. I am from and live in Port Elizabeth, town on the coast of South Africa, with my fiancé, Henrico, and our dog, Lemmy. I am a freelance photographer and I also lecturer Media and Graphic Design, part-time at a local college, Damelin, in Port Elizabeth. I graduated with a BTech in Graphic Design and a Diploma in Photography from the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth. I love being able to combine my photography and graphic design skills in creative projects. I have been involved in the local theatre scene, playing interesting characters and my favourite so far, playing the Bad Fairy in the Puss in Boots Pantomime. I have a great love for the arts, be it performing or visual arts. It has been my passion from a very young age. As for photography, I love capturing stories. I love documenting authentic and spontaneous moments between loved ones that are filled with emotion in fun and relaxed environments. My love for capturing moments in this style began a few years ago as I was taking pictures behind-the-scenes, backstage during rehearsals of theatre productions that I performed in. I would love to hear your story and have the opportunity to capture it too.
